As a member of theBioPharma &Corporate Legal group,you’llbe part of a team of transaction lawyers, focused on delivering the most important projects for our Business Developmentteams. Your work will include supportinglicensing and collaborations, as well as asset dealsandM&Aprojectsand other commercial matters for AstraZeneca.We’relooking for a skilled, ambitious lawyer to help AstraZeneca become a world leader in our therapeutic areas of focus, including Oncology, Biopharmaceuticals (including cardiovascular, renal & metabolism; respiratory & immunology; andinfectious diseasetherapies) and Rare Disease. Your specialistexpertisewill be key to achieving this ambition!

What you’ll do

In this Global role,you’llprovidelegal advice across AstraZeneca’s global organization, working closely with senior leaders. Using your knowledge oflicensing, IP,commercial and corporate law you will provide drafting,negotiation,and business counsel support to lead the legal support for key transactions, driving projects to completion and helping to mitigate critical legal and business risks. The role will see you personally handling complex legal matters,interpretingand drafting contracts, and taking a global perspective and your work may involve overseas travel.You’llfoster a culture of knowledge-sharing and collaborative working with your counterparts across the Legal function.

Essential for the role

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree with admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 5+ years of experience withpharmaceutical related licensingandcollaboration work, supporting Business Development teams
• Knowledge of and experience working in the life sciences sector
• Strong leadership capabilities
• Solution and action orientated approach
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage complexity and cultivate innovation
• Demonstrable accountability and integrity
• Ability to act independently and drive projects to completion
• Strongworking knowledge ofAI-enabled legal and business tools

Desirable for the role

• Previousexperience working in-house
• Experienceadvisinga global pharmaceutical business
• Experienceadvising on M&A
• Understanding of manufacturing and supply chains
• Experience of working in a global legal environment

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $184,228.00 - 276,342.00 USD. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
