You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. About the Role You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. How You Will Contribute Determine donor eligibility, including managing informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self‑exclusion, conducting medical history interviews, physical examinations, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when necessary for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation required by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, including a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements, or a graduate equivalent. Current state license or certification: EMT‑Paramedic. Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of clinical or hospital experience. Compensation and Benefits Hourly wage range: $22.80 – $31.35 (USD) Benefits may include medical/dental, paid time off, retirement plans, short‑term and long‑term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, well‑being benefits, and eligibility for up to 80 hours of sick time and 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
