Carpenter/Foreman- Commercial Construction

Description The Construction Carpenter/Foreman will build, erect, install, and repair forms, structures, and other fixtures made from wood and other materials to assist with various construction projects. Must keep building and/or assigned areas of jobsite clean and organized as necessary to maintain a Safe and productive working environment. Ensures that proper Safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman/General Superintendent, Safety Director, or HR manager. Measures, marks, and arranges materials to establish layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors. Cuts and shapes structures, forms, or other fixtures from wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall. Uses various hand and power tools to build assigned projects securely. Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive. Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed. Creates wooden forms for pouring concrete or for tunnels, bridges, or sewer construction projects. Erects and dismantles scaffolding. Installs windows and doors. Adheres to local building and safety codes and guidelines. Performs other related duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned #INDjobs Requirements Competencies Experience preferred but willing to train the right individual Ability to work overtime as needed Ability to travel as needed (typically less than 10% of the time) Ability to understand directions and read blueprints. Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately. Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade. Thorough understanding of carpentry principles and methods. In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines Must have a valid driver’s license with the ability to hold a Med Card Works well as part of a team.
