Job Description

Job Title:          Part-Time Office and Communications Coordinator

Position Summary: This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has good communication skills, is organized and enjoys being part of a collaborative church environment. A friendly, organized and dependable person to help support the daily life and ministry of our church. The Office and Communications Coordinator does play an important role in helping our congregation stay connected, welcomed, and informed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: include, but are not limited to, the following:
Communications:
•    Answer phones and the doorbell, greet guests
•    Email Communications between the Committees and the Church Office.
•    Organize funeral helpers and provide support to the families
•    Manage church social media
•    Email Scripture to Bible Study and Lay Readers
•    Create weekly power point presentations

Administrative:
•    Hospital Report
•    Praise and Worship cards and maintain prayer List
•    Attendance records, facility requests
•    Paper and electronic newsletters and worship bulletins
•    Church calendars: assist other staff in maintaining church and staff calendars
•    Maintain Membership Database: (i.e. address, phone number, email, etc)
•    Maintain historical documents, including church committee meeting minutes
•    Create other administrative documents and booklets as needed and/or requested
•    Worship music: email Sunday service music to musicians
•    Assist with weekly deposits

Additional Functions and Responsibilities:
Perform other duties and special projects assigned by the Pastor and other staff members within the general scope of the position.

Skills and Qualifications:
•    High school diploma or equivalent
•    Experience in oral and written communications
•    Fluent in Microsoft Office Programs and other databases
•    Ability to use office equipment
•    Criminal background checks are required.
•    Compliance with Sexual Misconduct Policy and a Confidentiality Agreement
•    Someone who values confidentiality, kindness, and professionalism with all ages and life situations.
•    A self-starter who works well independently and with others
•    Demonstrates understanding and full support of the mission, vision, values, and identity of the congregation.
•    Possesses a valid driver’s license and automobile/reliable source of transportation for limited church errands, and the ability to keep track of mileage for reimbursement

Source of Supervision: The Office and Communications Coordinator works under the supervision of the Pastor and Personnel Committee.

Hours and Compensation:
Hours:
•    This is a part-time position working 30 hours per week.
•    The work schedule for the Office Communication and Coordinator will be arranged with the Pastor.

Compensation:
•    This is an hourly position paying $21.00 to $24.00 depending on relevant experience, paid semi-monthly on the 15th and the last day of the month.
