Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices.Working the reception desk, greeting and communicating with patients and providersRegistering patients ensuring to get correct personal and insurance information and entering that into the practice management systemScheduling, canceling, and rescheduling patient appointmentsReminding patients of upcoming appointments and tracking missed appointments, no show and cancellationsAnswering multiple telephones and accurately documenting messagesForwarding telephone calls appropriately and following up on return callsTaking appropriate and understandable messages for staff and providers from callers who leave messagesChecking-in patients and properly documenting registrationInsurance verification and verification of patient demographicsAuthorizing procedures or surgeries, as neededFiling or retrieving medical records and delivering to appropriate providers or departments as neededFiling patient and administrative filesCopying, scanning and faxing dutiesCollecting co-pays and cash from patients, getting authorization on credit cardsCash balancing and deposit log reconciliation and maintenanceEntering charges, payments, and balancing the day in the computerPreparing charge sheets for billing vendor in the appropriate format including all necessary paperworkOther duties as assignedMay require occasional travelingLines of Responsibilities:1.
