Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU

Neuro ICU – Critical Care

Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45–07:15) Weekend requirement: every other weekend

Assignment Details:

• Length: 13 weeks accepted
• Daily census: ~11–12 patients
• Unit beds: 13

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Neuro ICU / Neuro Critical Care
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (BCLS), NIHSS
• Comfort in managing high-acuity neuro patients and stroke populations
• Familiarity with Epic charting system

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care for patients experiencing strokes, seizures, and other neuro-critical conditions.
• Manage ventilator-dependent patients and provide necessary neuro monitoring.
• Administer continuous IV sedation and manage blood product transfusions.
• Recognize and manage dysrhythmias, ensuring basic ECG competency.
• Implement isolation precautions and utilize PPE as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Compliance / Notes:

• No RTO after booking allowed; up to 7 days RTO auto-approved (no holidays).
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays.
• Candidate must complete required testing within 48 hours of signing.
• Pre-start modules are required to be completed prior to start.
