We are seeking a compassionate and positive benefit verification person with experience to provide support to our complete revenue cycle. In this role you will work collaboratively with our Billing and credentialing team to support our financial operations. Primary responsibilities Verify patient benefits with the insurance companies to ensure that patients have benefits for services at our office. Check to make sure that therapies are covered under the patient insurance plan and obtain direction on completing a prior authorization if required. Collect and review all patient insurance information needed to complete the benefit verification. Identify any restrictions and provide details on how to expedite patient access. Follow up and clarify any information that is not clear to other staff members. Report any reimbursement trends or delays to the Manager. Perform related duties and special projects as assigned. Work in a fast‑paced office environment. Intake insurance clearance for new patients. Requirements Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Associate degree in business, healthcare administration or related field preferred. 1 year of experience required; knowledge, skills and abilities needed. Specific experience in a medical office, benefit verification, claims processing or customer service at an insurance company. Fundamental understanding of key payers including Medicare and private payers. Full‑cycle knowledge of the patient accounting role. Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with staff and to act within the chain of command, utilizing positive verbal and non‑verbal skills. Competent in delivering safe and effective patient care within the legal limits of license and certifications and Certus policies and procedures.
