Course Details Course Code: ACCTG‑507.01 Title: Navigating Accounting for Success Semester: Fall 2026 (Part A of Term), 3 CU Timing: In‑Person Wednesdays from 6:00 PM–10:00 PM Dates: 9/2/2026 – 10/21/2026 Location: Moraga Campus Course Description From a financial accounting perspective, this course will focus on the content, concepts, and underlying principles that relate to corporate financial statements including the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement. It will also cover ratio analysis and stockholder equity related transactions. From a management accounting perspective, the course will cover the internal use of accounting information as a management tool for decision‑making purposes. Emphasis will be on cost concepts and analysis of cost variances. Topics will include cost‑volume‑profit analysis, job order cost accounting, process cost accounting, activity‑based costing, budgeting and budget analysis, performance measures, and decision making. Qualifications Degrees: Master’s or Ph.D. preferred in a relevant area of accounting discipline. Teaching experience: Successful record of teaching at the undergraduate level. Instruction experience: Familiarity with online/hybrid instruction to prepare for contingencies. Residency: Position requires all coursework to be performed within the state of California. Compensation Salary: $7,447 and $10,308 dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021.
