Principal Investigator, Ueli Rutishauser, PhD invites you to consider this Research Support Assistant opportunity to join his dynamic team!

The Rutishauser Laboratory at Cedars-Sinai is investigating the neural mechanisms of learning, memory and decision-making level of single neurons and networks thereof. We are a systems neuroscience laboratory and use a combination of in-vivo, single-unit electrophysiology in humans, intracranial electrocorticography, eye tracking, electrical stimulation, behavior and computational, and theoretical approaches. About the Role

The Research Support Assistant provides clerical support to Clinical Research Associate, Clinical Research Coordinator, Research Program Administrator, Research Nurse, or Research Manager. This role will provide the administrative support for research protocols by providing document management, acquiring proper signatures, and maintaining samples, kits, and study supplies. This incumbent will follow all federal, local, FDA, IRB, and HIPAA guidelines and regulations pertaining to the study and patient care.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes data entry.
• Provides document management for research activities.
• Handles the process of acquiring the proper signatures for research grants and protocols.
• Completes sample preparation and shipping and maintains study supplies and kits.
• Responsible for acquiring outside research records for patients enrolled in protocols.
• Schedules research meetings.
• Ensures compliance with all federal and local agencies including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA and local Institutional Review Board.
• Maintains research practices using Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
• Maintains strict patient confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations and applicable law.
• Participates in required training and education programs.

Department-Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Takes part in laboratory activities such as lab meetings and journal clubs.
• Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, performs assigned research activities that include development and engineering of research pipelines to enable data analysis and processing, development of tools for quantitative processing of intracranial recording data, intracranial data analysis, and execution of experiments.
• May draft reports, manuscripts, and other deliverables for internal or external presentation or publication.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

• High School diploma/GED is required.

Experience:

• No experience required.
• Experience working with clinical databases and specimen collection and documentation for clinical trials is preferred.
