Job Summary:
Pediatric Medical Floor RN (Registered Nurse) This position is located at an academic medical campus and involves providing care in a Level 6 SMSC Surgical Multidisciplinary Specialty Center. The role involves supporting pediatric patients with a wide range of clinical needs, including trauma, neuro assessments, and transplant care. The assignment spans 13 weeks, with day shifts scheduled from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.

Job Details:

• Position: RN Medical/Surgical (Pediatrics)
• Location: The organizations pediatric facility at a major medical campus
• Schedule: 12-hour days, shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, a minimum of 2 years Pediatric RN experience in a large pediatric facility, at least 2 years of specialty experience, and Certifications including BLS.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), previous travel experience is advantageous.
• Responsibilities: Providing direct patient care for pediatric patients, including those with Trach/Vent, EVD, lumbar drains, chest tubes, JP drains, central lines, TPN/Lipids, CPM/Ortho/Halo traction, colostomy, ileostomy, nephrostomy, TBI, neuro assessments, seizure management, solid organ transplants, trauma and rehabilitation patients.
• Float: Float rotation to various units including Medical, Oncology, Respiratory, Cardiac Acute Care, Rehab, NICU, and potential NOC sites on North/South campuses.
• Scheduling Requirements: Modified self-scheduling, must work 10 weekend shifts per 8-week block, and work holiday shifts as needed.
• Equipment & Resources: Use of Medfusion, Baxter Sigma IV pumps, Kangaroo feeding pumps, CADD PCA pumps, various ventilators, and respiratory support available 24/7.
• Vaccination Requirement: Seasonal Influenza Vaccination.
