We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as an EHS Manager in Lafayette, IN. Job Summary This EHS Manager will provide leadership, mentoring and direction to hourly, salaried and management personnel engaged in Environmental, Health, and/or Safety (EHS) activities related to a small facility or one discipline at a medium to large facility. Additional Info This role is located primarily in Lafayette, IN with periodic travel to Lebanon, IN Domestic Relocation Assistance: None This role is 1st shift This role is 100% on-site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules This role requires up to 15% domestic travel What You Will Do Identifies common safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization’s operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards. Ensures EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives. Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions. Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions and alerts line management to problems. Lead and develop EHS professionals, coordinators, technicians, trainers, and support personnel. Establish clear expectations and accountability. Support succession planning and talent development. Foster collaboration across departments. Influence safety culture through coaching, mentoring, and engagement. What You Have (Required Skills) Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance : Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards. Managing Multiple Priorities : Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation. Influencing : Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization. Effective Communications : Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills) CSP (Certified Safety Professional) OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 experience Completed OSHA 30-40 hour course Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Safety Management, or related Management or Leadership field. 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing, logistics, distribution, industrial, heavy equipment, or related environments. 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience. Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and environmental regulations. Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis. Experience developing and implementing EHS programs. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency. Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience Sustainability and environmental reporting experience Experience in warehousing, logistics, or Caterpillar operations Experience managing multi‑site EHS programs Knowledge of behavior-based safety systems Physical Requirements Frequent walking throughout manufacturing and warehouse environments. Ability to wear required PPE. Occasional lifting up to 35 pounds. Ability to work in varying environmental conditions. Ability to respond to emergency situations when required. Summary Pay Range $89,210.00 - $133,810.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
