Business Development Manager

SUMMARY:
This BDM role will be an integrated member of the Texas Operational Sales Team and lead a best-in-class customer service experience. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have an aptitude for problem solving and critical thinking, and have a collaborative mindset. BDM's are responsible for revenue generation, managing the sales process, and delivering value-add solutions for O&P commodity inspection and laboratory testing services across the Energy, Chemical & Commodity trading industry. This role is focused on top line growth in Texas through daily prospecting, proactive sales management, opportunity creation, and deal closure.
• Responsible for prospecting and closing revenue generating opportunities related to Energy & Chemical inspection & testing services.
• Ability to quickly gain full understanding of client organizations within these markets, their business models, supply chain, goals and strategies.
• Hunter mentality with Account Management skills required.
• Exemplifies Bureau Veritas' Professionalism Standard by appearance and conduct.
• Behaves ethically at all times and builds trust with every client interaction.
• Provides employee motivation and champions "lead from the front" culture
• Preferred knowledge of O&G associated infrastructure: import/export operations, terminals, production, refining, feedstocks, pipeline and storage.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, RFP's with clients according to BVNA's corporate policies
• Build a pipeline and document activities in CRM (Accounts, Opportunities, Contacts, Visit reporting, etc.) Must be familiar with Salesforce and other CRM technologies, methods, processes.
• Leverage BVNA group knowledge of applicable Testing, Inspection and Certification standards to create client value propositions across all BVNA service lines
• Asist with improvement in customer satisfaction ratings and NPS
• Management and mitigation of customer complaint issues.
• Provide and implement growth strategy with leadership team to eliminate gaps.
• Demonstrate initiative in acquiring new product knowledge, keeping current with product changes and new product development activities
• Carry out the above responsibilities, and all others which may be assigned, in a manner demonstrating support for and adherence to the Company's Safety Policy and Procedures, Quality Policy and Procedures, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System, Vision and Strategy, and to exercise good judgment, common sense, and diplomacy in so doing. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
• Well organized, disciplined and self-motivated, with the capability to balance multiple priorities in a very high-paced environment.
• Requires a sound knowledge of petroleum and chemical inspection and testing procedures.
• Knowledgeable with Oil & Petrochemical knowledge with Loss Control, Marine Measurement, Inspection Safety, Sampling, Tank Gauging, Temperature Determination, Metering and American Petroleum Institute (API) standards.
• Broad experience in inspection related business as well as in-depth understanding of the business operation and customer base
• Solid technical knowledge and quality background in commercial laboratories
• Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and procedures for site
• Road Warrior - ability to travel 50-75% or more of the time
• TWIC card required in the first 30 days
• Houston Safety Council training courses required within the 30 days EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• BA/BS in scientific discipline, business, economics, occupational safety/health or related field. Or sufficient combination of experience and education
• 10+ years of experience in a leadership role growing talent leading in a cross matrixed environment in a laboratory, filed services, or quality management environment
• 5+ years of business development/sales experience including lead/opportunity management with proven services sales track record
• 5+ years of experience in O&P/Energy industry
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills required
• Ability to build and maintain strong positive relationships with key personnel from executives to analysts.
• Self-motivated, self-starter that enjoys the marketing and sales environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Proven ability to balance multiple competing priorities, meeting deadlines, be responsive and thrive in a team environment
• Leadership and Teamwork - Ability to interface and effectively work with various groups and cultures involved (partners, government, agencies, contractors, operations, etc.), and gain alignment to achieve objectives LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to do basic mathematic calculations related to Oil & Petrochemical laboratory & inspection calculations. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
