Line Cook – The Gatesworth

The Gatesworth is a country-club-style independent living community in St. Louis, offering restaurant-quality dining without the constraints of a medical or dietary-restricted kitchen. Our residents expect scratch-made meals with real culinary variety — this is a kitchen built for cooks who want to actually cook, not just plate to a restriction sheet.

We're hiring a Line Cook to join a culinary team producing elevated, made-from-scratch meals for residents and guests every day.

What You'll Do:

• Prepare and plate meals from written menus and standardized recipes in a full-service, restaurant-style kitchen.
• Handle and store food safely, maintaining proper temperatures throughout preparation.
• Follow kitchen standards set by the Executive Chef and Director of Food Service.
• Keep your station clean, organized, and service-ready.
• Support other kitchen duties as needed.

Position Requirements:

• Culinary training and/or culinary education strongly preferred.
• Previous line cook or professional kitchen experience required.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety practices.
• Ability to follow recipes and execute a varied, scratch-cooked menu accurately.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move kitchen supplies as needed.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail.
