Welder - Fabricator

Welder/FabricationReporting to the Maintenance Manager, a Welder/Fabrication combines welding skills with metal fabrication to build, repair, or modify structures and components.Responsibilities:Review blueprints and drawings and conduct measurements to strategize layout and procedures.Assess appropriate welding equipment or methods in accordance with project requirements.Prepare components for welding as per specifications (e.g., utilize powered saws to cut materials to precise measurements).Utilize angle grinders to ready parts for welding.Align components accurately using tools like calipers and rulers, then securely clamp pieces together.Execute welding operations using manual or semi-automatic equipment across various orientations (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).Perform repairs on machinery and components through welding and gap filling techniques.Thoroughly examine welded surfaces and structures to identify any defects.Ensure equipment is maintained to uphold safety standards.Other duties as assigned.Academic/Educational Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent required.Possession of a professional certification, such as an AWS welding certificate, is considered advantageous.Completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is mandatory.Required Skills/Experience:Proficiency in utilizing a diverse range of welding equipment and techniques, including TIG, MIG, and ARC.Competence in utilizing electrical or manual tools such as saws, squares, and calipers.Ability to comprehend and interpret technical documents and drawings effectively.Familiarity with pertinent safety standards and a commitment to utilizing protective gear such as face-shields and gloves.Precision and meticulous attention to detail in workmanship.Fluency in English language.What Linamar Has to Offer:Competitive CompensationEmployee Benefits package includes but not limited to, Drug, Dental & Vision etc.Opportunities for career advancement.Sustainability CouncilCommunity based outreach supporting both local and global initiatives and charities.Discounts for local vendors and events, including auto supplier discounts.About Us:Linamar Corporation is a Canadian-founded global manufacturer, renowned for its advanced engineering and innovative product development across diverse industries and markets.
