Vice President Commercial Lending

Job description:
Responsible for developing new business, underwriting, structuring and closing loans as well as maintaining and servicing existing loan and deposit portfolios. Work with other team members and departments to develop potential prospects, as well as referrals from existing customer base and other outside sources. Represent the bank through active participation in community and civic organizations.
Provide secure, accurate, responsive, and courteous customer service to both internal and external customers at all times. Maintain strict confidentiality of customer and banking relationships.
Be a trusted advisor to every internal and external customer. Inspires confidence and builds lasting relationships by consistently exhibiting each of the trusted advisor skills in order to help our customers identify and achieve their financial goals.
Day to Day
• Develop and underwrite loans for new and existing customers while adhering to the bank's credit underwriting policies and approval processes for assigned loans.
• Monitor existing loan portfolio to ensure proper risk rating and early identification of potential problems.
• Maximize bank profitability through appropriate pricing of new loan originations, fee income and selling of all bank products and services.
• Negotiate terms, structure financing based on risk considerations and present credits for approval to appropriate levels of authority.
• Work and resolve daily overdrafts.
• Monitor and work past due loans and update the bank's collection system.
• Obtain and review financial information.
• Review loan agreements to ensure they are complete and accurate and that borrowers are compliant.
• Monitor draws on line of credit that are subject to borrowing base agreements.
• Work closely with other lenders on joint relationships.
• Prepare quarterly Action Plans on all assigned classified loan relationships.
• Support the bank's strong relationship banking culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service and superior product knowledge.

Required Skills & Experience

Must have qualifications :
• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance, or equivalent work experience
• 7 - 10 years of experience in Credit Administration
• Commercial and Industria(C&I) l lending experience REQUIRED, can have Commercial real estate(CRE) background but not necessary
• Commercial loan + deposit experience
• Experience managing an assigned loan portfolio
Ability to read and understand regulations, policies and procedures; use grammatically correct and clear oral and written communication


Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Nice to Have skills and requirements:
- Background in a community bank (not a large national bank)
- Experience with nCino program (commercial lending)
