Some duties include assisting with rooming patients, managing patient flow, administering medication, and communication with patients. Principle ResponsibilitiesRoom patients, manage patient flow and obtain adequate patient medical information/data.Perform patient care tasks as delegated by Provider or RNContributes to an environment that is safe for patients, visitors, and employees.Other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsMust be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required principle competencies as listed on the job descriptionCandidates must have completed a Medical Assistant program or a comparable healthcare education program with a similar scope of clinical trainingCandidates with fewer than six (6) months of Medical Assistant experience must have completed a minimum of 160 hours of clinical externship or equivalent clinical practicumPreferred QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDPrevious Medical Assistant experienceMedical TerminologyLicenses/CertificationsMust meet at least ONE of the requirements below: Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)Medical Assistant certification preferred. Acceptable certifications include: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA - AAMA) Registered Medical Assistant (RMA - AMT) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA – NHA) National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA – NCCT) Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA - NHA)Physical DemandsMedium Work*: Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequentlyPay RangePay Range: $22.44 to $30.81 per hour The pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
