Aecon Engineering Services Inc., the former United Engineers and Constructors, an Aecon Company, is seeking a Project Engineering Manager (PEM) to support Nuclear Generating Stations on site in the Toledo, OH area. The successful candidate will manage the engineering and design efforts to modify and upgrade existing nuclear power plants. This could include general plant upgrades, component replacements, electric power uprates (EPU), among other types of plant enhancements. The successful candidate will lead the project engineering effort, working as a liaison with the clients, partners and with a team of engineers and designers on the support of conceptual, preliminary and detailed engineering and design development working in conjunction with fully integrated Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) project scopes of work. What You'll Do Here Provide engineering management and guidance to subordinate staff, enforce company and project policies. Plan and manage work activities to ensure successful project execution while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, and budget adherence. Under supervision of a Project Manager or above, demonstrate and provide project leadership in their area of responsibility. Supervise and delegate tasks among a multidiscipline project staff. Monitor day-to-day activities and proactively identify potential project problems or opportunities, analyze issues, develop alternatives, and determine the optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities. Demonstrate knowledge of resources and capabilities of other groups for appropriate incorporation into project organization. Clearly understand the scope of work and contract requirements applicable to their area of responsibility. Serve as the responsible professional engineer (PE) in the state where the work is based. Actively manage the engineering schedule and cost performance. Support or conduct formal status reporting and presentations to client and/or management. What You Bring To The Team B.S. Engineering Degree from an accredited university in an Engineering Discipline. Ability to manage the engineering elements of a large and complex Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) project. Professional Engineering (PE) License in any State with the ability to be licensed in other States by Comity. Minimum 12 years of experience working with nuclear plant engineering and design. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership position or supervisory capacity. Takes ownership of engineering work performed on a project. Experience working with others in a Project Team environment. Strong written and oral communications skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize and organize work in a multi-tasked environment. Basic understanding of project performance metrics (PI and SPI). Experience with electric power uprates is preferred. Field experience, and ability to perform site walk-downs. Salary Range & Benefits Pay Range: $160,000 - $200,000 per year Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
