Senior Program Manager / EPMO:

Top Priority Profile: Someone who has actually built, scaled, or led a PMO.

What the manager wants:

• Strong PMO leadership experience, not just project execution
• Experience establishing governance, methodologies, standards, reporting, and operating rhythms
• Ability to drive portfolio, program, and project management across the organization
• Strong resource planning, budgeting, prioritization, and executive reporting skills
• Experience with both Agile and Waterfall environments
• Comfortable managing scope, timelines, costs, risks, and change management initiatives

Nice-to-Haves:

• Data center industry experience
• Experience creating PMO frameworks from the ground up
• Director-level PMO background

Key takeaway:

This is not a traditional Program Manager role. The hiring manager wants someone who can bring structure and maturity to the organization and help establish PMO best practices. A strong Director of PMO candidate may even justify creating a higher-level position. The emphasis is on PMO leadership and operational governance over industry-specific knowledge.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of program management experience leading large-scale technical and enterprise-wide programs within a technology or cloud infrastructure environment.
• Proven experience establishing or maintaining governance frameworks within an Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO).
• Deep expertise across project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and PMO platforms (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, Confluence).
• Demonstrated ability to drive alignment and hold cross-functional teams accountable across complex, distributed organizational structures.
• Exceptional leadership, structured problem-solving, and communication skills with extensive executive presentation experience.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PgMP, PMP, CSM) are strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
