Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Urology

Description

This contract, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide comprehensive urological care in a well-established clinical environment. As a Locum Urology Physician, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care while maintaining continuity of service within the medical practice.

In this role, you will diagnose and treat a wide range of urological conditions, perform necessary procedures, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. You will contribute directly to patient outcomes and the overall success of the practice by applying your clinical expertise in urology. The position requires a commitment to evidence-based medicine, patient-centered care, and effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues.

 

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients with urological conditions and disorders
• Perform urological examinations, procedures, and surgeries as required
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging and laboratory studies
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients
• Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with best practices
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation
• Collaborate with referring physicians and multidisciplinary care teams
• Provide patient education on urological health and treatment options
• Ensure compliance with medical regulations and clinical standards
• Participate in on-call coverage and emergency consultations as needed
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical medical practices

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
• Valid medical license to practice in the state of Durango
• Board certification or eligibility in Urology
• Associate-level experience in urology practice or residency completion
• Strong clinical skills in diagnosing and treating urological conditions
• Proficiency in performing urological procedures and surgeries
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and staff
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Willingness to work on-site and fulfill locum contract requirements

Level I Trauma center

Schedule: 24-hour call, 7a-7a

Duties: Urology needs over the phone or in person, surgeries if required, and rounding on patients

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

Additional Certifications: BLS and DEA
