POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative for an 8-week travel assignment in Marysville, California. The Patient Access Representative is responsible for timely and accurate patient registration, insurance verification, collection of patient liability amounts, and ensuring all required documentation is completed. This role plays a critical part in supporting patient access services while maintaining exceptional customer service and accurate medical records.

• Recent Cerner Experience
• Patient Registration Experience
• Insurance Verification Experience
• Strong Customer Service Skills
• Ability to work Day Shift schedules
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to accurately collect and verify patient information

Preferred:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience
• Previous experience in outpatient clinic or hospital registration
• Knowledge of healthcare insurance and authorization processes

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform timely and accurate patient registration
• Interview patients and obtain all pertinent account information
• Verify insurance coverage and patient eligibility
• Calculate and collect patient liability amounts
• Obtain all necessary signatures for treatment and services
• Answer patient questions and explain facility policies and procedures
• Review physician orders and attach them to patient records
• Ensure patients receive the appropriate tests and services ordered
• Print, collate, and distribute patient paperwork as required
• Escort patients or coordinate patient assistance when needed
• Select appropriate health plans and enter authorization information accurately
• Follow departmental guidelines and instructions from senior staff
• Maintain accurate documentation within EPIC and Cerner systems
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
