Production Operator

Shift C Shift: Thursday Saturday, alternating Wednesdays, 5:40 AM–6:00 PM (Qty: 1) A Shift: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, alternating Wednesday, 5:40 AM–6:00 PM (Qty: 1) Interview Onsite The Winder Operator is a member of a crew that operates two production lines. You will work with your shift to safely produce high quality product in a fast pace continuous operation environment. The expectation for a winder operator is to deliver quality packaging and products for our customers. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Lives the Owens Corning Safety Standard "Safer Together" and meets all safety requirements. Safety is a condition of employment. Take personal ownership to work safely and hold other team members to the same high standards. Notify supervisor immediately of any accident, near miss or on-the-job injury when it occurs. Participates in the safety, quality, autonomous maintenance (AM), TPM and housekeeping programs. Performs job tasks to reduce environmental impact and adheres to environmental regulations and recycling procedures. Complies with all plant rules and safety regulations. Performs cleanup duties at workstations and/or equipment/machinery. Communicates safety concerns and/or equipment problems to appropriate personnel. Inspects vehicles and other PIV equipment before use and throughout shift. TPM Participates in plant TPM initiatives and completes associated tasks. Uses TPM methodology to gain a better understanding of the equipment. Identifies and participates proactively in learning opportunities. Utilizes Focus Improvement (FI) tools to problem solve. Works to achieve zero injuries, zero defects and zero losses. During PM days, uses time effectively to bring equipment to optimal condition. Maintains DMS and AM Team Area Activity Boards. Performs quality checks and documentation at specified intervals. Maintains control panel, adjusts speed, delays, and other timers if needed. Interfaces with plant employees to provide QC information. Monitors and reports unusual or suspect material issues. Communicates with coater and back-end operators concerning shift production and quality problems. Evaluates finished product for proper weight and/or thickness. Job Duties Understand basic product processes. Operate winders and packaging machines on both production lines. Operate banding equipment efficiently. Print and apply pallet labels accurately. Load and stack reworked material safely. Track, manage, and report scrap and seconds accurately. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Monitor alarms and respond appropriately. Assist with web break repairs. Support threading and product changeover procedures. Contribute to training and development of team members. Identify and engage in learning opportunities to build expertise. Follow all standard operating procedures and processes. Perform all other duties as assigned or needed. Able to effectively communicate (read, write, speak, understand) English. Computer and Software Competencies Basic data entry on a computer. Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, pallet labeling system (MII), Ignition, and SAP. Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred. Manufacturing or process related experience preferred. Essential Physical Requirements/Work Environment Must be at least 18 years old. Remain drug free. Have work schedule flexibility (overtime). Perform up to 12‑hour shifts with breaks in an industrial manufacturing environment. Wear applicable/mandatory PPE. Exposure to extreme temperature variation, noise levels, prolonged sitting, standing, walking, and use of upper/lower body movement. Exposure to ink, dust, dirt, fumes. Can distinguish colors and shading. Handle, control, feed, or feel objects, tools, or product. Become certified to operate a forklift if needed. Perform repetitive movements of hand, arm, leg. Perform bends, twists, squats, walks, sits, stands; including waist, back, and knee motion. Lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
