Principal Product Leader, Therapeutics Discovery

Job Overview We are Roche’s Data and Digital Catalysts (DDC) department within the Computational Sciences Center of Excellence (CSCoE). This role will guide the strategy for a family of products that support molecule design, manufacturing, testing, learning, and data lifecycle in drug discovery. You will work closely with Genentech’s top scientists and cross‑functional teams across therapeutics discovery. Responsibilities Define the strategy and product vision for a product family in the Therapeutics Discovery Domain to enable the highest impact scientific outcomes. Develop deep scientific and problem understanding, articulate the strategic product roadmap, nurture stakeholder relationships, and drive delivery. Advocate for future‑facing solutions, anticipate emerging capabilities, understand the Drug Discovery scientific landscape, and influence the Roche/Genentech informatics ecosystem. Integrate roadmap, budget projections, and collaborations with implementation teams while contributing to consolidation and deprecation of legacy systems. Establish and cultivate strong internal and external partnerships with extended collaborators in DDC, CSCoE and beyond. Set and execute on strategy within the product family to support multiple therapeutic modalities in partnership with drug discovery scientists, the domain head, and other product family leads. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 years of experience or advanced degree with at least 2 years of proven experience leading delivery of impactful internal solutions that drive significant outcomes. Experience in a biotechnology setting with an understanding of scientific drug discovery processes. Strong product management skills: definition of product vision, strategic thinking, and extended stakeholder management. Hands‑on domain expertise in the design‑make‑test‑learn aspects of biotechnology. Understanding of how scientific data is collected, managed, analyzed, and used in the discovery process. Experience documenting detailed software requirements, user stories, business processes, and/or software specifications for custom and Commercial‑Off‑The‑Shelf (COTS) systems. Highly collaborative with demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with internal and external partners, including globally distributed and cross‑functional teams. Outstanding oral and written communication skills and ability to engage and articulate vision, strategy, and roadmap to diverse audiences. Leadership by example, mentorship, and influence without direct authority. Relocation benefits are not available for this posting. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $148,600–$276,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job‑related factors permissible by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available.
