Director of Development

Our client, a financial services firm, seeks an experienced Director of Development to join their team.

The Director of Development is responsible for supporting the growth, development, and success of new Financial Representatives throughout their first five years with the firm. This individual will partner closely with Office leadership to implement effective training, coaching, and development initiatives designed to drive early productivity, professional growth, and long-term retention.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive Financial Representative productivity and retention by implementing effective systems, best practices, and technology-based resources.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development while actively seeking feedback and opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with leadership to identify development needs and provide appropriate coaching and support.

Pre-Financial Planning Academy

• Work closely with candidates during onboarding to prepare them for the Financial Planning Academy (FPA).
• Review and explain the Discovering Your Markets project and follow up to ensure timely completion.
• Meet with new Financial Representatives to confirm completion and understanding of Pre-FPA requirements, including eLearning courses and language practice modules.
• Communicate with the National Training Program (NTP) regarding participant readiness and address any gaps or concerns prior to training.

Post-Financial Planning Academy

• Develop, manage, and track performance expectations for Financial Representatives during their first five years.
• Monitor activity, production, progress, and commitment to the career, providing regular feedback to Field Directors, Growth & Development Directors, and District Directors.
• Lead or oversee activity coaching meetings with new Financial Representatives.
• Manage the Board of Review process, evaluating each representative’s activity, production, progress, and overall performance while reinforcing accountability and expectations.
• Plan and coordinate Network Office Days, including scheduling and preparing speakers.
• Coordinate Client Builder sessions, including program structure, requirements, scheduling, and facilitators.
• Design, schedule, and oversee post-FPA training and development programs, including facilitating or supervising training modules.
• Maintain and manage the joint work list and support its effective use by new advisors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Three to six years of experience within the financial services industry.
• Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring, and providing constructive feedback.
• Strong presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to proactively identify and address challenges, navigate difficult conversations, and maintain a results-oriented approach.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This position is on-site five days a week.

Salary range: $100,000 to $110,000
