Part Time Night Shift Patient Access Coordinator

Fairfax Behavioral Health, founded in 1930, is a private, free-standing mental health hospital that specializes in psychiatric and detox treatment. This drives our passion for providing evidenced-based outpatient and inpatient psychiatric treatment programs with successful outcomes.

Fairfax is looking for a Part time Night Shift Patient Access Coordinator to join our Intake team. (Fri, Sat, Sun 11pm-7:30am) The Patient Access Coordinator (PAC) is primarily responsible for answering and appropriately managing incoming telephone calls; scheduling patient assessments/appointments; creating and updating patient pre-registrations including verification of benefits and financial counseling; setting certain expectations for patients regarding their services, and responding to customers' information needs. The PAC is also cross-trained and utilized as a Hospital Services Representative (HSR), thereby assuming the responsibilities associated with the patient discharge/check-out function. Additionally, the PAC is responsible for performing various administrative and clerical duties required to support these functions and, on an as-needed basis, may be required to perform other tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Experience: At least two years working experience in a hospital or Dr. Office setting helpful.
  • Strong background in customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • General knowledge of patient accounting which includes billing and reimbursement requirements.
  • Computer skills and ability to interact with all types of customers.
  • Work hours: 11pm-7:30am (MUST BE Work every other weekend)
