Key Account Manager - Electronics/3C

Summary
Under the direction of KUKA’s U.S.A. VP of Sales and Marketing and with dotted line responsibility to KUKA Roboter GmbH’s Division VP, Electronics/3C for sales account management assignments, sales strategies, product management, the incumbent represents the company’s products and services to select electronic/3C accounts. Manages assigned accounts and develops new accounts to generate increased sales, profitability, and market share. The Account Manager will be assigned to accounts by industry (Consumer Electronics Manufacturing).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Combine technical expertise and business acumen to understand customer needs, processes, and strategic objectives
- Identify and develop new business opportunities and expand existing accounts to drive revenue growth
- Develop and execute strategic account plans aligned with customer goals and company offerings
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including engineering, procurement, production, and leadership teams
- Manage the full sales cycle, from opportunity identification through negotiation and closing
- Present and position products, services, and solutions to deliver clear customer value
- Lead proposal development, including solution design, pricing, and commercial terms
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to deliver technical and commercial solutions
- Negotiate contracts to achieve favorable business outcomes
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline management using CRM tools
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform strategy
- Represent customer feedback internally to support product development and business decisions
- Ensure accuracy of orders and alignment with agreed terms and proposals
- Travel to customer sites and company locations as needed
- Adhere to company standards, quality systems, and safety regulations
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree or the foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or another closely related field plus 3 years of experience in a Business-to-Business Sales occupation.
Preferred:
- Strong relationship with customer senior management, management and working-level contacts, their supplier base and the accounts’ integrators.
- Experience selling Capital Equipment to customers in the Semiconductor or Consumer Electronics industries.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, technical manuals, customer RFQ’s or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively create and deliver presentations and to respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Additional language skills in Mandarin or Hindi preferred.
