This role develops and executes strategies that optimize customer service, working capital, and operational efficiency while supporting company growth and profitability.The Director partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Logistics to create a collaborative planning process that drives informed business decisions and executive alignment.Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Operations Planning LeadershipLead the monthly S&OP/Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process from demand review through executive S&OP.Establish governance, meeting cadence, KPIs, and decision-making processes.Drive cross-functional consensus on demand, supply, inventory, and financial plans.Present recommendations and business scenarios to executive leadership.Continuously improve planning maturity and organizational capabilities.Demand & Supply PlanningOversee demand planning, forecasting accuracy, and forecast bias improvement.Balance customer demand with manufacturing and supplier capacity.Develop supply strategies that maximize service levels while minimizing cost.Lead inventory optimization initiatives across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.Manage constrained supply situations through prioritization and risk mitigation.Inventory & Capacity ManagementDevelop inventory strategies that balance customer service with working capital objectives.Monitor inventory health, slow-moving inventory, and excess/obsolete materials.Collaborate with manufacturing to optimize production capacity and scheduling.Evaluate capacity constraints and recommend capital or operational improvements.Cross-Functional LeadershipPartner with Sales and Marketing to understand demand drivers, promotions, and product launches.Collaborate with Finance to align operational plans with budgets and financial forecasts.Work with Procurement to mitigate supplier risks and improve material availability.Coordinate with Logistics and Distribution to optimize network performance and customer fulfillment.Supply Chain StrategyDevelop long-term supply chain planning strategies supporting business growth.Lead initiatives to improve supply chain agility, resiliency, and responsiveness.Identify opportunities for automation, digital planning tools, and advanced analytics.Champion continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.Performance ManagementMonitor and improve key performance indicators including:Forecast AccuracyForecast BiasCustomer Service/OTIFInventory TurnsDays of Inventory Outstanding (DIO)Fill RateProduction Schedule AdherenceCapacity UtilizationWorking CapitalSupply Chain CostPlan AttainmentTeam LeadershipLead, coach, and develop Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and S&OP teams.Build a high-performance planning organization focused on accountability and continuous improvement.Recruit, mentor, and retain top supply chain talent.Foster a culture of collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and operational excellence.QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.MBA or Master's degree preferred.Experience10+ years of progressive supply chain experience.5+ years of leadership experience managing planning or supply chain teams.Supply chain experience with US and China based manufacturing operations.Significant experience leading Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) or Integrated Business Planning (IBP).Experience in manufacturing, consumer goods, industrial products, life sciences, or similar environments preferred.Required SkillsExpert knowledge of S&OP and Integrated Business Planning processesDemand and supply planningInventory optimizationProduction planningCapacity planningExecutive communication and presentation skillsFinancial acumenData analytics and KPI developmentERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)Advanced Planning Systems (Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, o9, Anaplan, Logility, SAP IBP, etc.)Strong leadership and change management capabilitiesExcellent problem-solving and decision-making skillsPreferred CertificationsAPICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black BeltProject Management Professional (PMP) (preferred)Position can seated at any of our US based facilities:Sault Ste.
