Position Overview Position title: Assistant Project Scientist Salary range: A reasonable salary range estimate for this position is $97,000 - $121,800. Position Description The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering within the Jacobs School of Engineering at UC San Diego is conducting an open search for a non-tenure track Assistant Project Scientist in the area of Biomedical Interfaces and Systems. The successful candidate will develop a microfluidic pump, its integration with an implantable pulse generator system, and the hermetic sealing and passivation validated in the pig animal model for 3-6 months of programmable drug delivery. Project Scientists are academic researchers expected to make significant and creative contributions to a research team, but are not necessarily leaders of the team. They are not required to carry out independent research or develop an independent research reputation but will publish and carry out research or creative programs with supervision by a member of the Professor or Professional Research series. Project Scientists may not serve as a Principal Investigator but may serve as Co-Principal Investigators. University and public service are encouraged but not required, and they do not have formal teaching responsibilities.
