Senior Project Manager – Capital Markets / Financial Services

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex, high-impact initiatives within a financial services environment. This role will support strategic projects across Capital Markets, Trading, Banking, and Risk functions, partnering with business and technology stakeholders to drive successful execution.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing complex projects in financial services, with demonstrated experience navigating matrixed organizations, regulatory-driven initiatives, and cross-functional teams. This individual must be highly adaptable, able to manage competing priorities, and comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

The Senior Project Manager will serve as a key liaison between business partners, technology teams, and leadership, ensuring alignment on objectives, delivery milestones, risks, dependencies, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex projects within financial services, including planning, execution, risk management, stakeholder communication, and delivery oversight.
• Partner with business and technology teams to define project objectives, scope, requirements, timelines, dependencies, and success criteria.
• Operate effectively within a matrixed organization, coordinating across multiple business units, functions, and technical teams.
• Facilitate project governance activities, including status reporting, executive updates, risk escalation, issue resolution, and decision tracking.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, resource plans, and communication strategies.
• Drive execution by influencing stakeholders, managing expectations, and ensuring accountability across project teams.
• Identify project risks and dependencies while developing mitigation strategies to maintain delivery commitments.
• Support regulatory and compliance-related initiatives, ensuring projects meet required standards and deadlines.
• Produce clear, insightful reporting and presentations for senior leadership using tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, OneNote, and Microsoft Project.
• Adapt quickly to changing business priorities and shifting project requirements while maintaining focus on outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of project management experience, preferably within financial services, banking, capital markets, or trading environments.
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, business functions, and technology teams.
• Working knowledge of Capital Markets products and financial services trading environments.
• Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, governance practices, and delivery frameworks.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and drive execution across teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong executive presence.
• Experience working in a matrixed organization with cross-functional teams.
• Advanced proficiency with: Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneNote, Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing regulatory projects within financial services.
• Experience supporting Market Risk initiatives and/or Model Development programs.
• Familiarity with financial markets operations, trading workflows, and banking processes.
• PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• Experience working with senior executives and preparing leadership-level reporting.
