Junior Sous Chef

The Club at Glenmore was established in 1992 and is situated within a private residential community about five miles east of downtown Charlottesville. We are currently seeking a Junior Sous Chef with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and a passion for cooking. Responsibilities include the daily preparation of food items in the pantry, sauté, and grill stations with emphases on food appearance, quality and taste to create an exceptional dining experience for our members and their guests. Main duties will be food production and plating up of lunch and dinner. Other duties will include assisting in the production and plate up for our on-site weddings/events facilities. Requirements are as follows: Previous fine dining experience is needed Thorough understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures Ability to take direction and work as a team member Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and organized Commitment to quality service Ability to stand for extended periods, plus bend, stretch, lift, and occasionally carry heavy materials Must be able to work some weekends and holidays—but no late nights, the restaurant closes 8-9pm depending on the season. This is a full time, year-round position for people who love to cook and want to be a part of a positive work environment. Exact compensation depends on experience, and there is room for advancement for the right person.
