Senior Construction Estimator

Overview Our client is well-established as one of the top General Contractors in the Chicagoland area, with excellent project delivery downtown and throughout Chicagoland. They are looking to add an experienced Senior Estimator to assist in the large number of bids they currently have, as well as mentor younger team members. They offer a competitive starting salary and excellent benefits. Responsibilities Prepare conceptual budgets, SD/DD/CD estimates and lump sum bids in association with the assigned Project Manager. Conduct quantity take-off and studies for all items incorporated in the project, anticipating details necessary to complete the project. Read, understand and incorporate project documents, drawings and specifications. Prepare preliminary estimates and studies during preconstruction; monitor design development cost trends to detect overruns and potential problem areas. Provide value engineering consulting through design development as required. Price out and summarize estimates, including scope of work detail by trade and/or system. Conduct pre-bid project walk-throughs and represent the company in communications with Owner, Architect, Building Engineer and Subcontractors during the bid process. Interface with subcontractors and suppliers and evaluate proposals relative to the scope of work. Qualifications 12+ years of experience in construction estimating within various markets. Preferably have a degree in Construction Management or a related field. Hands-on experience estimating projects based on blueprints. Well versed in Procore, Bluebeam and other estimating software. Excellent organization skills. Understanding of construction systems. OSHA certification is preferred. What’s on Offer High base salary with bonus potential; flexible PTO.
