Journeyman Chiller Service Technician

We're seeking a Journeyman Chiller Service Technician in Sacramento, CA to support and grow commercial mechanical operations across the region.

Impact

Keep mission-critical chiller plants running through preventive service and rapid repair.

Reduce downtime for healthcare, data center, and commercial customers across the region.

Deliver clean diagnostics and reports that help owners plan capital projects.

Mentor junior techs and raise the bar on safety and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

Service centrifugal, screw, and reciprocating chillers from York, Carrier, Trane, and other major OEMs.

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and controls issues on water-cooled and air-cooled equipment.

Perform eddy current testing, oil analysis, vibration analysis, and tube cleaning as required.

Recover, evacuate, and recharge refrigerant per EPA standards.

Document service calls accurately in the work-order system.

Coordinate with dispatch and project managers on emergency calls and planned outages.

Train apprentices and Level I/II technicians on safe field practices.

Maintain tools, test equipment, and service vehicle in clean working order.

Requirements

Must-Haves

5+ years servicing commercial chillers in a field environment.

EPA Universal refrigerant certification.

Strong electrical, controls, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

Valid driver's license with clean motor vehicle record.

OSHA 10 or 30.

Nice-to-Haves

Factory training on York, Trane, or Carrier centrifugal units.

Magnetic bearing or oil-free chiller experience.

BAS/controls integration exposure (Niagara, Tridium).
