Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Correctional Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year preferred License: Pending License accepted Certifications: BLS, ACLS, MOAB (facility will provide) Must-Have: - MOAB certification or willingness to complete an in-person training during the first week. - Ability to pass facility background check. - Experience with substance withdrawal and detox protocols preferred. Description: This position involves providing care in a correctional setting. You will primarily cover the Addictions Medicine department. The department oversees detox medication administration and Suboxone inductions. Responsibilities include assessments and treatments for patients undergoing substance withdrawal. You will monitor patients during the detox process and induction of Medications. The patient-to-nurse ratio varies by medication type, with a maximum of 1:50 for detox. Experience with CIWA protocols and understanding of withdrawal management is essential. The role includes interdepartmental collaboration with various supportive services. Candidates should demonstrate a solid background in managing withdrawals and detox protocols. You will work with adults and geriatric patients and care for an average daily census of 1800-1950. Travelers without the required MOAB certification must complete training during the first week. Failure to complete the course may result in contract termination. A flexible schedule is required, with weekend shifts needed. Consideration will be given to candidates with experience in emergency or medical-surgical nursing. Corrections experience is required; others may be accepted based on prior experience in related fields. Candidates must be able to learn and adapt to working within the correctional setting. A commitment to providing compassionate patient care is essential.
