Travel ICU Registered Nurse - $1,355 per week

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Athens, Texas. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 8 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse position available in a healthcare facility on nights. This role involves providing specialized critical care to adult and geriatric patients, with responsibilities including managing ventilated patients, administering IV sedation, and utilizing advanced monitoring equipment. The position requires a focus on patient safety, adherence to clinical protocols, and collaborative interdisciplinary care. Job Details Location: Nights shift at a healthcare facility with a 10-bed ICU. Shift: 3x12 or 4x12 Night blocks, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Required Qualifications: Active certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). A valid state or compact license must be in hand at the time of submittal. The candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, including managing ventilated patients, arterial line care, and dysrhythmias interpretation. Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, trauma experience, and familiarity with Epic charting system are preferred. Additional Qualifications: Experience with managing ports, chest tube procedures, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and intracranial pressure monitoring is desirable. Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with at least 36 hours per week. Submission Requirements: Candidates must submit documentation confirming licensing and certifications, and should be prepared to complete onboarding modules within 48 hours of contract signing.
