Upper Moreland Township School District Job Description Position: Co-Curricular Nurse (Licensed, Non-Certified) Department: Assigned Building/Student, Upper Moreland Middle School Reports to: Athletics & Student Activities Administrator/ Director of Special Education FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly) Schedule: Part- Time, 3 hours/day twice/week in the evening, possible weekend up to 10 hours/day on Saturdays, 10 Months Mission Statement The Upper Moreland Township School District is an educational institution working in partnership with the community to provide all students with educational opportunities to develop knowledge, skills, behaviors, and habits of mind necessary for excellence and success as critical thinkers, as caring and confident individuals, and as contributing members of society. Summary Responsible for providing nursing services to assigned student(s) in the co-curricular activity. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include The Following (Other appropriate duties may be assigned.) Maintain health and nursing services records for student(s) Identify school health problems and inform staff members and administration as necessary Dispense prescribed medication and health services as directed by a physician order Provide care for first aid, accidents, and illnesses Complete state required paperwork and reports in a timely manner Serve as the liaison between parent(s) and the district on all health related matters related to assigned student(s) Other duties as assigned by administration Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. CPR/First Aid active certification is required. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others Ability to communicate orally and in writing Must have the ability to report to work based on the needs of the student(s) participating in the co-curricular activity Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements. Candidate must adhere to all local, state, federal, and school code requirements for employment.
