Junior Systems Administrator

Description NSI requires a Part-time Junior Systems Administrator to support the IS3 Department. The Junior System Administrator will support the maintenance and day - to - day operation of our Microsoft 365, Azure, and Intune environments. Under the guidance of senior team members, assist with deploying, configuring, and maintaining systems and applications that keep our workforce productive. Ensure smooth operation of network services, basic server functions, and enterprise applications, while building hands - on experience with cloud technologies and modern management tools. Improve internal processes by supporting the development, organization, and maintenance of SharePoint sites and document libraries. This includes helping design workflows, gathering requirements from departments, and implementing structured solutions within SharePoint to enhance collaboration and operational efficiency across the organization. Responsibilities Assist with end - user troubleshooting, basic network operations, routine server tasks, and software updates to help ensure smooth daily functioning of our IT environment. Support SharePoint administration by helping maintain sites, permissions, and document structures that improve collaboration across the organization. Help implement technology updates, resolve issues, and contribute to keeping systems secure through tasks such as managing backups and maintaining access controls. Location Lexington Park, MD Education BS or BA Preferred Experience Knowledge of systems administration, cloud platforms (e.g. Azure), and automation tools (e.g. Power Automate and Power BI). The ability to troubleshoot and resolve IT issues quickly and effectively. Ability to explain complex technical information to non-technical staff. Understanding and applying best practices for securing data and systems. Certifications COMPTIA Security+ (Required within 6 months of employment) CompTIA A+ (Preferred) CompTIA Network+ (Preferred) Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) (Preferred) Security Clearance Must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen. Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Must be U.S. citizen.
