About The Job Red Hat Consulting seeks a Consultant to help deliver solutions that address our clients’ business challenges through hands‑on technical implementation and enablement of best practices. The role requires solid technical experience, an awareness of open source, a baseline understanding of business processes, and the ability to solve issues at the enterprise level. The successful candidate will promote Red Hat’s solutions, using technical expertise and interpersonal skills. Travel up to 20‑30 weeks per year across North America is required. Responsibilities Support customers in building scalable, optimally managed, and adaptable enterprise technology infrastructures using Red Hat solutions. Continuously learn, grow, and adapt to new skills and technologies. Travel frequently (20‑30 weeks per year) to collaborate with leading financial services, retail, telecommunications, and institutional customers. Qualifications Required Experience Experience delivering implementations as part of a project team based on an architectural design. Demonstrated ability to contribute to a technical project, including collaborating on project timelines and maintaining project and technical documentation. Ability to understand stakeholder needs and set expectations regarding project timelines and scope of work. Experience working collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders. A desire to mentor. Technical Skills Base‑level experience using and configuring Linux systems, with an understanding of configuration as code. Experience with scripting languages (YAML, Python, etc.). Intermediate, hands‑on experience with automation technologies (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt, PowerShell, etc.). Understanding of the advantages of automation in complex environments. Some experience using or configuring cloud technologies, including container management and/or orchestration. Preferred Skills (Not required) Previous exposure to or practical experience with Ansible Automation Platform. Intermediate‑level understanding of technologies related to core IT systems and concepts such as infrastructure, networking, storage, and security. Role Development Path At 2 months – Begin working on a project team, gaining technical skills, consulting experience, and exposure to Red Hat Customer Success. At 6 months – Deliver a project as a technical contributor, develop project plans based on customer use cases, and expand internal and external networking. At 12 months – Demonstrate technical leadership by delivering complex enterprise solutions and sharing best practices with internal and external communities of practice. Salary & Compensation Salary range: $106,100.00 – $169,640.00. Actual offer will be based on qualifications. Pay Transparency: Compensation is determined by location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. The annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package; this position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For Remote‑US locations, the salary range may differ but will remain commensurate with job duties and relevant experience.
