The CHEF’STORE Sales Associate helps maintain an atmosphere of superior customer service, promoting the US Foods strategy: Great Food, Made Easy. As a key member of our team, you will fill a variety of roles, including Cashier, Stocker, and Customer Courtesy, and must be passionate about service and model this behavior in all aspects of job performance. During a shift, you will be assigned to any of our departments, depending on our customer and/or business needs. At the direction of store management, you may work in any or all of the following areas: Front end of the store: selling merchandise and assisting customers through the checkout process. Sales floor in Meat/Frozen, Produce/Dairy, Dry Goods/Culinary Equipment & Supply departments. Replenishing freight and rotating product in any department. You may also assist during special store events, such as Vendor Fairs, sales floor resets, and inventory processes. Starting rate is $19.66/hr. Look for flexibility to work Monday-Sunday based on business need between 5:00am and 7:00pm. Freight handling a plus. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Front End Ensure all customers have an impeccable CHEF’STORE experience by developing and maximizing relationships with store customers. Perform sales and cash functions in the POS efficiently and accurately. Perform cart-to-cart transfer of all products at checkout, including visual inspection for product tampering. Act as receipt checker; verify cart content vs. purchases as customers leave the store. Perform store opening and/or closing functions at the front end as assigned. Sales Floor and Stocking Focus on increasing sales and managing shrinkage. Assist in receiving inventory shipments and maintain orderly shelving with proper rotation and quality audits. Label all merchandise correctly, including blaster tagging and catch weight labels. Replenish sales floor daily using FIFO procedures; use trucks and pallet jacks as needed. Utilize computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel and proprietary software. Ensure products are easily accessible and visually appealing. Assist with price changes as directed by the Pricing Lead and Store Management. Open and close duties of the store as required. Participate in inventory and cycle count processes. Customer Courtesy Maintain a safe environment for staff and customers by following safety policies. Keep sales floor, front end, and restrooms clean. Maintain cleaning of parking lot and store entry area. Collect carts from parking lot and cart corrals, ensuring they are clean and operable. Perform additional duties as assigned or required by Store Management. SUPERVISION None. RELATIONSHIPS Internal: interact with employees at all levels. External: interact with customers and other service and product providers. WORK ENVIRONMENT Retail store setting, open to the public, with exposure to outside weather. Noise level usually moderate. Work typically on level surface; may use ladder or elevated surface. Temperature ranges from -10 to 85 degrees. Requires physical interaction with customers. Minimum Qualifications 6-12 months retail cashier and/or stocking experience. One year retail selling and/or customer service experience preferred. Preferred Qualifications Desire and ability to deliver exceptional customer service and adapt to assist other employees. Provide fast, easy, efficient, and professional service to customers. Good common sense, logical thinking, and basic mathematical aptitude. Self-driven and motivated, able to multi-task and prioritize. Flexible hourly schedule, including holidays and weekends. Basic computer skills, cash handling experience, and proficiency with general office equipment. Education High School Diploma or equivalent work experience. Physical Qualifications Stand continuously. Walk continuously. Drive vehicle never. Sit occasionally. Lift 1-10 lbs, 11-20 lbs, 21-50 lbs, 51-100 lbs, >100 lbs with specified frequencies. Carry, push/pull, climb/balance, stoop/squat, kneel, bend, reach above shoulder, twist, grasp objects, manipulate objects, manual dexterity as specified. May receive overtime compensation.
