As the Assistant Director of Primrose School of Exeter, your dedication to the success of our next generation will help ensure we deliver on our mission of bringing the best and most trusted early childhood education and care to the families we serve.

The Assistant Director is a key member of the school leadership team and works closely with the Director to support the daily operations of the school, provide leadership to staff, build strong relationships with families, and ensure a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment for every child.

As the Assistant Director, you will:

• Create a culture of support, collaboration, and professionalism for staff, families, and children.
• Cultivate an environment committed to the health, safety, and well-being of every child.
• Support the Director in the daily operation and administration of the school.
• Manage the operation of the school in the Director's absence.
• Learn and understand the essential functions of each position within the school in order to provide effective support and leadership.
• Support classroom teams and step into classrooms as needed to maintain appropriate staffing and ensure quality care.
• Assist with staff scheduling, coverage, and maintaining required staffing ratios.
• Support the hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and professional development of team members.
• Assist with ensuring compliance with New Hampshire Child Care Licensing requirements and Primrose Schools policies and procedures.
• Assist the Director in maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming school environment.
• Build positive relationships with current and prospective families and support effective family communication.
• Assist the Director in achieving maximum enrollment and effective cost control.
• Support school events, community outreach, family engagement, and charitable initiatives.
• Partner with the Director to address operational needs, staff concerns, and family matters in a professional and timely manner.
• Demonstrate and promote the Primrose Balanced Learning® approach and the school's commitment to high-quality early childhood education.

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

• Director Qualified in the State of New Hampshire in accordance with applicable New Hampshire Child Care Licensing requirements.
• Lead Teacher Qualified in accordance with New Hampshire Child Care Licensing requirements.
• A bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience as permitted by New Hampshire licensing requirements.
• Prior experience working in an early childhood classroom setting and a strong understanding of the teacher experience.
• Experience in early childhood education, child care administration, or a leadership role within an early learning environment.
• General knowledge of New Hampshire Child Care Licensing requirements and regulations.
• A strong commitment to building positive relationships with children, families, staff, and the community.
• Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage multiple priorities.
• A collaborative, positive, and professional approach to leadership.
• The ability to remain flexible and support the needs of the school throughout the day.
• A genuine passion for early childhood education and helping children, families, and teachers thrive.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must meet the Director Qualification requirements established by the State of New Hampshire .
• Must meet New Hampshire Lead Teacher Qualification requirements .
• Must meet all applicable New Hampshire Child Care Licensing requirements for the position.
• Must be able to successfully complete required background checks and employment screening.
• Must maintain all required certifications and professional development.
• Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced child care environment and respond to the changing needs of the school.
