Training Operations Lead - Assembly

The Training Operations Lead - Assembly is responsible for overseeing the full training lifecycle for assembly personnel within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures employees are properly trained, safety certified, and qualified to perform assembly operations across multiple production stations while meeting quality, safety, and production goals. The ideal candidate will drive workforce development, competency progression, and continuous improvement initiatives that support operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Training Program Ownership Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive training programs for assembly personnel across all production stations, including: Electrical Assembly Mechanical & Piping Assembly Testing & Validation Ensure training content remains aligned with operational requirements, quality standards, and production objectives. Safety & Certification Management Administer and track required certifications and compliance training, including: NFPA 70E Qualified Electrical Safety Electrical Safe Work Practices Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Pressure Testing Safety Working at Heights Ensure all employees maintain current certifications and comply with safety regulations. Specialized Technical Training Coordinate advanced training programs for Quality Control and Test Technicians covering: Electrical testing equipment and procedures Hi-Pot and Megger testing Pressure systems safety Laser and scanning system safety Verify technician competency through skill assessments and practical evaluations. On-the-Job Training & Coaching Lead and support technical trainers and OJT coaches across assembly operations. Provide hands‑on instruction, real‑time coaching, and skill validation on the production floor. Establish consistent training standards and best practices across shifts. Competency Development Implement competency‑based training pathways that support employee progression from trainee to fully qualified technician. Maintain qualification matrices and track employee skill development across multiple assembly stations. Identify cross‑training opportunities to improve workforce flexibility and productivity. Training Governance & Performance Tracking Monitor key training metrics, including: Training completion rates Certification compliance Time‑to‑competency Qualification readiness Provide regular reporting and recommendations to leadership. Leadership Development Support the development of Assembly Leads and frontline supervisors by providing coaching, mentorship, and leadership training. Ensure leaders are equipped to effectively train, guide, and support production teams. Analyze quality metrics, production performance, rework trends, and incident data to identify training gaps. Partner with Operations, Quality, and Safety teams to continuously improve training programs, standard operating procedures, and workforce capability. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in training, technical instruction, workforce development, or manufacturing operations. Experience supporting assembly, manufacturing, industrial, electro‑mechanical, or production environments. Strong understanding of electrical assembly, mechanical assembly, piping systems, and multi‑stage production processes. Experience managing safety certification programs, including NFPA 70E, LOTO, and electrical safety training. Knowledge of competency‑based training models and employee qualification systems. Familiarity with quality control processes, in‑process inspections, testing, validation, and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital training platforms. Ability to support and coordinate training activities across multiple shifts and large‑scale production teams. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, Workforce Development, or a related field. Technical trade certifications and industry‑recognized training credentials. Experience within electro‑mechanical manufacturing, industrial equipment, energy, data center, or complex assembly environments.
