IT Business AnalystApex Systems combines with parent company On Assignment to make it the 2nd largest IT staffing agency in the country.Apex has an opportunity for an IT Business Analyst for a client in Central NY, Waltham MA, NYC or surrounding areas.Location: Central NY, Waltham MA, NYC or surrounding areasTerm: 6 month contract to hirePay: Negotiable based on experienceHere are the details:Job Purpose:The IT Business Analyst is part of the Strategy & Planning team and reports to the Program & Project Management Manager. They will assist with the development & maintenance of the Financial Workbook, which is a homegrown tool used by the US CIO teams to manage their investments’ financials. Also responsible for assisting in the creation, delivery and optimization of Financial Management processes and functions to ensure IT operates with maximum financial efficiency and transparency to generate the greatest value for the Business.Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):The IT Business Analyst is accountable to perform a wide range of functions which will include, but not be limited to, the following:Under guidance of the Program & Project Management Manager, responsible for the development, support & training of the Financial Workbook (Excel-based proprietary tool)Liaise with the IT Finance, Regulatory, CIO Delivery Towers and Global Solutions Engineering teams, to gather requirements for new features to be incorporated into the Financial WorkbookCoordinate the release of new features to productionDocument new features and update existing guidance and training materialUtilize historical financial data to assist with the development of project budget, resource and forecasting plansAssist in ad-hoc reporting to support requestsTop 4 requirements:A Bachelor's degree OR in lieu of a degree, equivalent work experience. Excellent MS Excel 2016 skills a must. Proficiency with the MS Office 365 Suite of products (specifically SharePoint 2016). Experience in financial reconciliationDesired Qualifications:The successful candidate(s) will have demonstrated capabilities in:Proven IT business acumen.Experience with Scaled Agile, in addition to classic Waterfall deliveryHandle multiple tasks and determine priorities in an ever-changing environment while remaining flexible/adaptable as priorities change.Work independently as well as in a team-based environment.Organize and prioritize work effectively and efficiently.Quickly grasp complex issues and effectively integrate, compile and analyze complex information and data.Problem solve by providing timely and accurate interpretation of analyses.Communicate effectively and tactfully, both orally and in writing.Prepare and conduct quality presentations to large groups, all levels of leadership and key stakeholders both internally and externally.Positively influence others and gain their cooperation.Minimum Qualifications:The successful candidate(s) will have the following knowledge and experience:A Bachelor's degree OR in lieu of a degree, equivalent work experience.Excellent MS Excel 2016 skills a must.Proficiency with the MS Office 365 Suite of products (specifically SharePoint 2016).Experience in financial reconciliation (forecasts vs. accruals vs. actuals) and variance analysis and how to present relevant information. Working knowledge of Operating vs. Capital Expense rules for internal software development.Analysis of business performance and development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
