Mechanical Design Engineer

Insight Global is seeking experienced Mechanical Design Engineers to support a leading aerospace company in East Hartford, CT. This position will support the design, development, and sustainment of complex aerospace components and systems used in next-generation propulsion technologies. Engineers will work throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept development and detailed design through manufacturing support, testing, and in-service engineering activities.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
• P3: 5+ years of mechanical design experience
• P4: 8+ years of mechanical design experience
• Experience with aerospace hardware design, drawings, and manufacturing processes
• Proficiency with NX (Unigraphics) and Teamcenter
• Experience working in a cross-functional engineering environment
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
• Gas turbine or turbomachinery experience
• High Pressure Compressor experience
• ANSYS or FEA experience
• Experience with engineering change processes
• Model Based Definition (MBD) experience
• SAP experience

Responsibilities:

• Develop innovative mechanical design solutions for complex aerospace hardware
• Create and release 3D models, drawings, and engineering documentation
• Support product development through concept, detailed design, validation, and production phases
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, systems, stress, and test engineering teams
• Perform root cause investigations and resolve technical design challenges
• Support design reviews, engineering changes, and product improvement initiatives
• Provide technical recommendations to program stakeholders
• Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on product performance and manufacturability
