Description

• Assess patients of all ages, employing standardized evaluations and observational methods.
• Create individualized treatment plans targeting immediate goals while considering long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
• Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions concentrating on language, communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing objectives.
• Engage with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care strategies.
• Educate patients and their families to facilitate progress beyond therapy sessions.
• Assist with periodic inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care.
• Document interactions and treatment plans accurately and promptly following state and federal guidelines.
• Keep abreast of field developments through continuing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within one month of hire.
