Accountant - Team Lead

Job Title: Accountant – Team Lead Location: Indianapolis, IN Duration: 8+ Months Interview: Webcam only Job Description This position is assigned to work within the finance department as an accountant to correct old, open projects to the point of having those projects closed out in PeopleSoft and Euna (Financial & Grants software). In addition, this position will act as the Team Lead and maintain tracking of the status of the grants/projects being reconciled to the point of being closed in PeopleSoft and Euna (Finance and Grants software). These tasks will involve a large amount of audit work, which will lead to the need to create journal entries and/or revenue transactions. The role requires the ability to work independently but also to know when to ask questions and/or coordinate transactions with other teams within finance. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Reconcile projects Audit project activities from the past to correct the activities by project Process journal entries as needed Reconcile and request assigned projects to be closed upon completion Engage in comprehensive reviews of financial data Process revenue transactions within PeopleSoft as needed Review and understand Notice of Awards and Grant Requirements as they relate to the reconciliation of grants/projects Maintain listing of all projects/grants to be reconciled and the status of each Job Requirements Thorough knowledge and the ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Thorough knowledge and the ability to apply Generally Accepted Audit Standards and related theories Thorough knowledge of Governmental Accounting Broad knowledge of federal, state and agency budgeting and fiscal policies and procedures Extensive knowledge of agency organization and function Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with all levels of the organization Ability to work under pressure and to practice diplomacy, tact, and courtesy Ability to work independently Ability to problem-solve and research and recommend remedies to complex issues Ability to develop and follow effective procedures Ability to stay organized and maintain appropriate communication with the "Clean Up Project" group Experience Required Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or compensatory experience working in the accounting field 3-5 years of accounting/auditing experience showing progression State government accounting experience is preferred, and will be very helpful Required / Desired Skills Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance Experience with PeopleSoft 3-5 years of progressive accounting/auditing experience Knowledge of GAAP Knowledge of GAAS Government Accounting Audit Experience Experience with Euna financial and grants software State government accounting experience #J-18808-Ljbffr Creative Solutions Services, LLC
