Project Accountant I at Shiel Sexton The Project Accountant I position with Shiel Sexton is an onsite entry level accounting position which requires basic project/cost (construction) accounting, a high level of detail, accuracy, and timeliness with strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritizing abilities. The successful candidate will have experience in processing monthly project billings as well as strong accounts payable experience. Responsibilities Preparation of project billings using an ERP accounting system (Vista Viewpoint) and in AIA format Processing and reviewing project payables and reviewing subcontractor billing documents for completeness Project support partnering with the Project Operations Team Project Accounting Team support with Vendor Statements Accounting department accounts payable email distribution Miscellaneous accounts payable assignments Using independent judgement and discretion to identify problems and making recommendations for solutions Skills / Qualifications Accounting degree preferred; relevant accounting experience accepted One (1) to three (3) years of experience in Construction Accounting Strong knowledge of accounts payable processing Understanding of AIA Forms Experience in ERP Accounting System (Vista Viewpoint preferred) Knowledge of subcontract commitments and purchase orders Understanding of retainage principles Competencies Collaborative – desire to work with the team to improve and streamline processes Initiative — Ability to understand what tasks need to be completed without direction Professional – Respectfully represents self, department and company Communication — Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with internal and external teams Results driven — strong sense of urgency and comfortable working with deadlines Thoroughness — Ensuring that one’s work is complete and accurate Flexibility — Demonstrates openness to new organizational structures, procedures, and technology Team Champion – a champion for Shiel Sexton and the Project Accounting Team Please note sponsorship and/or relocation are not available for this position. #J-18808-Ljbffr
