Tax Compliance & Investigations Analyst - Downtown Indianapolis

Pay: $22/hour | Full-time | Mon-Fri | Paid parking provided

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to support tax compliance, audits, and investigations in a structured, fast-paced environment. This role involves researching complex taxpayer issues, analyzing financial records, and ensuring accuracy in tax accounts and systems.

What You'll Do:

Research and resolve taxpayer payment, return, and liability issues
Provide technical assistance to taxpayers and agencies
Analyze financial documents, tax returns, and audit results
Create and adjust billings/liabilities using agency systems
Identify non-filers and review compliance with tax obligations
Maintain case records and track assessments/collections
Review data for inconsistencies and potential discrepancies
Support audits or investigations, including evidence handling and documentation
Complete confidential disclosure requests in accordance with policy

What We're Looking For:

8+ years in accounting, tax collection, finance, or customer service
Strong knowledge of tax laws, auditing, and accounting principles
Experience with databases or tax software preferred
Ability to interpret complex financial and technical information
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
