Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly residents, identifying their unique emotional and psychological care needs.
• Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions, effectively addressing clients' emotional challenges linked to aging and life transitions, such as loss of independence or bereavement.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans that encompass the full spectrum of each client's mental and emotional needs.
• Educate staff, families, and caregivers on strategies to enhance the emotional well-being of elderly individuals, empowering them to support their loved ones better.
• Provide specialized grief and loss counseling tailored for residents and their families grappling with issues related to aging and end-of-life discussions.
• Initiate and implement cognitive stimulation programs designed to maintain mental acuity and emotional health for our senior clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this position is on elderly clients who are experiencing a range of mental health issues related to aging, including anxiety, depression, dementia, and adjustment disorders. Our patients often face profound life changes, such as health decline, loss of loved ones, or transitioning into assisted living environments. Your role will be vital in providing them with the support and strategies needed to navigate these significant life events and transitions.

Qualifications

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 4 years of recent experience in providing mental health support and counseling to geriatric populations.
• Additional training or specialization in geriatric mental health and age-related challenges is preferred.
• Proficiency in conducting thorough clinical assessments and formulating effective treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster trust and rapport with elderly clients and their families.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 65,000 to 95,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Additionally, qualified candidates will receive a sign-on bonus as an incentive to join our dedicated team.
