Instrument Fitter Gulf Island Houston, Texas, United States About this position Description: Main Purpose: The Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician (Instrument Fitter) is responsible for integrating components, assemblies and finished shelter, rack and enclosure packages including electrical and instrumentation tubing and piping to Englobal and Englobal customer’s detailed design drawings, quality standards, specifications and applicable codes and regulations related to instrumentation and electrical systems. This role works closely with I&E engineering and project management to identify issues early, maintain documentation and drive continuous improvement across the shop floor. The majority of work to be performed in shop environment with minimal travel to field assignments. Essential Functions: Read and understand engineered drawings Complete material take off for project materials Display knowledge of electrical circuits when assisting with electrical integration and other areas Bend, run and test tubing installation Run tubing from sample systems to analyzers and headers Build sample systems Install Dekoron, mount analyzers, sample systems and other instruments Own and maintain safe work practices Own and maintain quality work practices and final product quality Perform other duties assigned by supervisor Benefits Offered: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance 401(k) with Company Match Paid Holidays Paid Vacation Life Insurance Disability Insurance Safety Awards Company Store Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Requirements: Physical Requirements: Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing Turning, twisting, bending and balancing Pushing, pulling and reaching Must be able to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds Job Requirements: 3+ years experience as an I&E Technician or related field Willing to travel 10-25% of the time for field assignments Must be meticulous about capturing and retaining information Must be analytical and detail oriented Must be able to work in a team environment and be able to explain issues clearly to team Must have basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Record-keeping software etc.) Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen Must be able to pass a background check Desirable Experience, Education and Training: High School Diploma or equivalent Valid TWIC card Safety Essentials and Site Specific Certifications / Classes Tools, Equipment and Technology: Standard Hand Tools Environmental Conditions: Work activities are performed in a manufacturing and fabrication shop environment with a mix of shop floor and office / documentation work. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, etc. They may also be exposed to fumes (Paint, paint thinners, diesel, /or gas etc.). Individuals may also have to walk the yard, climb stairs and inspect large assemblies. Englobal a Gulf Island Company will not sponsor applications for work visas.
