Marketing Portfolio Manager – Contract – Vienna, VA – $80.00 - $85.00/hr.

Our client is seeking Marketing Portfolio Manager in Vienna, VA.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Portfolio & Technology Manager to coordinate a portfolio of Marketing Operations and technology initiatives. This role connects business priorities with technology planning and delivery, helping teams prioritize demand, manage dependencies, establish ownership, and achieve measurable business outcomes across platforms and capabilities. The individual will provide portfolio-level planning, governance, and execution oversight across business, product, analytics, technology, and vendor teams. Responsibilities include maintaining an integrated roadmap, surfacing resource and delivery trade-offs, coordinating technology readiness, and giving leadership clear visibility into progress, risks, decisions, and expected value. The role partners with accountable business and technical owners rather than replacing their decision authority.

By the end of the six-month engagement, the contractor should deliver the following reusable portfolio management tools and operating practices:

Governance & Operating Model

• Portfolio stakeholder and platform ownership map

• RACI matrix covering planning, delivery, approvals, and operations

• Portfolio governance framework and review cadence

• Decision register with rationale, approvals, and follow-up actions

• Consolidated portfolio RAID and dependency register

• Documented decision rights and escalation process

Portfolio Planning & Reporting

• Prioritized initiative inventory and integrated technology roadmap

• Executive portfolio reporting package covering health, outcomes, risks, and decisions

• Portfolio dashboard with milestone confidence and agreed success measures

• Demand, capacity, and dependency assessment with sequencing recommendations

Technology Governance & Delivery Readiness

• Platform and capability inventory with accountable owners and key dependencies

• Technology and data governance requirements and approval tracker

• Delivery readiness checklist covering requirements, integration, testing, and support

• Vendor deliverable, acceptance, and commitment tracker

Change Management

• Portfolio communications plan and stakeholder update cadence

• Technology training, enablement, and adoption plan

• Cross-initiative change impact assessment and mitigation actions

• Business readiness and adoption tracking with accountable owners

Operational Improvement & Transition

• Prioritized operational improvement backlog with owners and target dates

• Stabilization and remediation plans for priority operational risks

• Technology lifecycle and transition recommendations addressing legacy dependencies

• Documented support ownership, handoff materials, and engagement-end transition plan

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of project, program, or portfolio management experience, including coordination of multiple concurrent business and technology initiatives

• Experience developing integrated roadmaps, coordinating priorities, and managing

dependencies across business, technology, and vendor teams

• Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills, including the ability to present options and trade-offs clearly

• Experience with portfolio governance, RAID management, decision tracking, and outcome focused leadership reporting

• Working knowledge of technology delivery lifecycles, platform integrations, data flows,

release readiness, and operational support models

• Adobe Experience Manager Assets (AEM/EDA/EDAM)

• Marketing Operations

• Metadata governance and taxonomy programs

• Digital marketing asset lifecycle management

• Change management and organizational readiness

• 5+ years of project, program, or portfolio management experience

• Experience managing multiple concurrent business and technology initiatives

• Strong portfolio planning, prioritization, roadmapping, and dependency management

• Experience coordinating across business, technology, product, analytics, and vendor teams

• Strong portfolio governance experience, including RAID logs, decision tracking, RACI/ownership, risks, and escalations

• Strong executive communication and leadership reporting

• Experience defining roles, responsibilities, decision rights, handoffs, and operating models

• Strong ability to bring structure and accountability to ambiguous/complex environments

• Experience coordinating change management, business readiness, communications, and adoption

• Marketing Technology / MarTech or Marketing Operations experience

• Adobe Experience Manager / AEM Assets

• Digital asset management

• Metadata governance / taxonomy

• Marketing analytics or data platforms
