Process Development Associate Scientist

Amgen seeks a Process Development Associate Scientist to support formulation and process development for synthetic drug products in late-stage clinical and commercial programs. The role involves hands-on experience with spray-drying technology, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration within the Drug Product Technologies department.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize formulations and processes for synthetic drug products across oral and parenteral dosage forms
• Design, execute, and analyze experimental studies to support clinical and commercial programs
• Support process scale-up from laboratory to manufacturing scale and troubleshoot technical issues
• Collaborate with Drug Product Technologies team on process improvements and cross-functional initiatives
• Apply digital tools and emerging solutions to enhance experimental efficiency and data analysis

Requirements

• Master's degree and 1+ years of scientific experience, or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years
• Experience in spray-drying formulation, process development, and experimental design
• Understanding of spray-drying scale-up, equipment considerations, and critical process parameters
• Knowledge of oral solid dosage form unit operations and manufacturing processes
• Strong problem-solving and experimental interpretation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Collaborative mindset with interest in digital and AI-enabled solutions
