Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, 65-bed Emergency Department serving patients ranging from newborns to the elderly across a broad spectrum of acuity levels
• Manage and titrate a wide variety of critical drips including vasopressors, cardiac drips, and antihypertensive medications
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening cardiac rhythms; interpret monitor strips using Philips monitoring equipment
• Draw labs and perform general nursing skills in collaboration with ED techs; support phlebotomy functions as needed
• Care for stabilized trauma patients transferred from the trauma bay to a pod setting; will not serve as primary nurse in the trauma bay
• Adhere to all facility policies including drug-free campus requirements and weekend/holiday rotation schedules

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC or TNS
• Proficiency with vasopressor and cardiac drip titration and management of critically ill patients
• Ability to recognize and act on life-threatening cardiac rhythms
• Must be able to pass a drug screen for all panels prior to assignment
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 2 years of emergency room nursing experience
• At least one prior travel nursing assignment
• SANE RN experience
• Prior experience working in a teaching hospital with residents
